The basic Health and Safety when taking photographs are to be known by anyone taking part in the shoot or the photogrpahers themselves. Some of the the basic health and safety rules and regulations are: to:
-Minimise waste and prevent pollution.
-Promote environmental information, to those who have never been in a particular location or studio before.
-Use sustainable resources wherever possible.
-Comply with all relevant environmental legislation, regulations and applicable codes of practice.
-Ensure that I continually review my environmental performance and improve it on an ongoing basis.
-Ensure that COSH, on a regular basis.
-Make sure all work surfaces are clean and free of litter.
-Put any bags or belongings away from work areas.
-Remember the darkroom is a low light, and even no light, working environment. So store coats, bags etc. where they cannot be tripped over.
-Make sure that the equipment you intend to use are clean and in a good working order.
-Turn on any extractor fans.
-Check that extra lighting bulbs are working.
-Check that the chemicals you wish to use are fresh.
-Make sure there are no cables, leads or electrical equipment are in the way of pathways, if so put a sign up or use a cover mat to put over leads and wires.
